Searching for the location of Salt Creek School in Arkansas
The picture below is my grandmother Stella Howard's first school she attended in Arkansas. She was in the first grade and is the little girl fourth from the right on the front row. This week I tried to find the school's location in Izard County, Arkansas. From all the family history I know the family lived near Zion, Arkansas and in the 1910 census they are farming in the Violet Hill Township. I have always been intrigued by one room school houses and was hoping to find the exact location of this school, in the hopes of finding other pictures of this particular school and learn its history. I posted on an Izard County FB page to see if any of the members knew of this school. That is where I ran into a snag. Someone looked up all the rural schools and one room school houses for Izard County and Salt Creek School was not listed.
